Things I'm Thankful for Today

August 8, 2008

These are in random order

The shiney drop of dew on my windshield. It looked like a diamond.

I'm thankful that the old blind guy made it across the street this morning and didn't get squished by the cars whizzing by him.

I'm thankful for my charger for my laptop especially when I'm in the middle of this!

I'm thankful that Danni is moving a little better today.

I'm thankful for her pain meds.

I'm thankful that the nurses are kind and they allow me to be back in ICU with Danni.

I'm thankful for this blog and the work God is doing through it.

Thank you, God, for my loving husband.

Thank you for doctors and hospitals and nurses who are willing to give so much of their lives to the care of others.

I'm realizing this could go on and on. I have so many things to be thankful for...

Thank you, thank you, thank you for Jessi and Atlee.

I'm thankful for Jesus.

My friends

My mom and dad.

life

My sis and brothers.

chocolate

ice cream

Ok you all get the point.

Thank you, God, for so many people praying, caring and loving us.

My honest, loving Christi,
I just read your last two blogs a few minutes ago. I (like many others) broke down while I read (and felt) your anger and frustration. I prayed out loud to God and Jesus and asked them to guide me to some words that would bring you comfort. I closed my eyes and cried for you, for Danni and for your family and begged Him for help. I opened the Bible, opened my eyes and there was Psalm 143. Please read all of it. It always amazes me how that works. You are one special lady...and Danni is one special young woman who is sooo lucky to have you as her mom. Anything you need ok? We're praying for all of you.

AMEN!!! i think we all need to take a moment and count our blessings and then thank god for everthing we have you just never know when it is going to be zapped from you.christi i dont know you and your family at all but just from reading this blog and from what i can tell your faith is very strong and that is what is helping you and danni through this rough time in her life, i dont know how anybody can go through something like this without god and the power of prayer in there life im seeing it work in front of my own eyes on this blog. i agree with janet up above danni is soooo lucky to have you as her mom to instil the love of god in her. i would like to say the blog before this one its okay to have a melt down im just surprised you haven't had one by now with everything going on you have alot on your shoulders takeing care of danni and your own needs your husbands your two other beautiful children. I dont have kids but i cant imagine in a million years what you are going through but my heart aches for you and danni she is so beautifull and young to have this happen to her and i know god has a plan for her we just dont know what it is yet. but he sure is using her mom to reach the lost people and bring the community together thats great, i read this blog everyday i cry, laugh with you and worry right along with you . so just have some more chocolate that always helps. you are in my prayers

Christy,
I just read your blogs from yesterday and today. Pete told me yesterday that I need to read, and told me a little of what it said. I put it off until now, Why u ask, probably because I knew if you were hurting I also would be. I too, felt your frustration and anger. I have to admit, I am probably selfish, I do want little Danni to be okay. I know she is not, but it pains me to see the little girl who used to knock on my door to see if Josh can play or the little girl who ate at my house because mom was having seaweed (ha ha), in so much turmoil. And I do ask God WHY? Why Danni and Why Christi? But, I know He has a plan, and it always isn't what we want, but He will help us thru. You are strong! And it is okay for you to be angry. We don't know what you are going thru, but in our prayers we lift all you up! You know I am here. Psalm 136 says "Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good. His love endures forever.
In love and prayer, Jaime
