Christy's Testimony

Psalm 37:39- The salvation of the righteous comes from the Lord, he is their stronghold in time of trouble.

Psalm 70:4- But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who love your salvation always say, "Let God be exalted!

"Thank you God that you are my stronghold in time of trouble! Thank you that you led me to seek your salvation! I rejoice and I say, "Let God be exalted!"

So many times in my life I can remember the Lord drawing me to himself through things that happened and things I had read. I went to church all my life it seems but that personal relationship with Jesus didn't come to me until later in life.

I had all but given up on the church because of the way someone in the church had treated me. I was down that day and it was all I had within me to even go to church that day.I realize that the person I came in contact with that hurt me never intended to hurt me, she was just going by her perception of how church should be. You see, I had capri pants on and she thought I should be wearing a skirt. I was devastated and I decided that I didn't need church. I shut down.

But God didn't give up on me, he kept pouring his love over me and singing over me just like yesterday's scripture said. I know there are those of you out there who have experienced similar things with someone in the church. But they are not God, just sinners in need of Grace like you and me.One day my heart surrendered to him. A Jehovah’s Witness came to my door and I knew I didn't believe the things they did. Then came the question from her, "What do you believe?" I didn't know. At that point, I looked down and there was Danni standing at my side, she was 3. It hit me like a ton of bricks that I would be held accountable for what she knew about God.Wow! It completely changed my life! It never hit me until now, what if I had remembered what that lady said to me and hardened my heart? Would I have the peace I have now? I dare say that a great portion of my peace comes from the knowledge that Danni has accepted Christ as her Savior!

There is no safer place for her to be than in the palm of her Father's hand! Whether she lives or she dies she's safe with Him and He loves her more than I ever could.

Thank you, Christy--such wise words for everyone about those who speak unwittingly and try to put their convictions on a new Christian (or anyone else). That's God's job. You're right; they're just misguided. Forgiving them is in order, just as we want to be forgiven for things we might say.

Wow... thank you so much for going online with your journey. I got to know your story because a friend asked me to make signs for donation canisters. So I came to this blog to use the pictures. I read this post and was deeply moved. I thank God that He doesn't give up on us! And I am thankful that in a small way I get to be a part of your story. May God Bless you and comfort you in this time. i will pray for you, Danni, and your families, whether or not you find this comment!
